Betong Sumaya

Kapuso comedian Betong Sumaya narrated his battle with COVID-19 and encouraged everyone to get vaccinated.

Kapuso comedian Betong Sumaya revealed he got infected with COVID-19 in a vlog where he documented his journey from day one until the last day of his quarantine.

He said in the beginning of his vlog, "Guys I hope na itong kakaibang bakasyon na ito magbigyan ng awareness sa atin."

Betong shared he started experiencing COVID-19 symptoms in the third week of July.

He experienced symptoms like fatigue and an itchy throat so he underwent an antigen test which came back negative.

After getting more COVID-19 symptoms, he immediately got an RT-PCR which tested positive. Betong shared he experienced fever, body pain, stuffy nose, headache, and fatigue.

Despite his best efforts to stay safe, he still caught the virus. So he reminded people to always be mindful. "Kailangan talaga mag-ingat, 'wag maging kampante."

After 17 days of self-quarantine at home, he finally tested negative.

Towards the end of his vlog, Betong said, "Sana maging aware tayo at makatulong itong vlog na ito.

He continued, "Isa sa mga realizations ko, importanteng 'wag mag-self medicate. Kumonsulta po sa doctor, and at the same time, please magpabakuna po kayo. Kung tapos na po kayo sa first and second dose, magpa-booster po kayo. You also have to communicate with family and friends na makakatulong sa inyo emotionally."
