Rabiya Mateo revealed that the jiu-jitsu training she's been doing has been a great help for her to release stress and aggression as well as to get into shape.

“It's a very physical na exercise kaya puro pasa po ako kasi parang lahat ng aggression ko, doon ko nailalabas,” the Miss Universe Philippine 2020 said in an interview with "Chika Minute."

She added, “It's an art of releasing your stress and frustration and it involves a lot of body techniques, so parang natutuwa akong gawin siya kasi after nun, pagod na pagod talaga 'ko, parang wala na'kong time mag-isip ng problema sa mundo.”

Aside from releasing stress, the jiu-jitsu training has been a great way for the TiktoClock host to get in shape and be ready for the upcoming mystery-thriller series Royal Blood.

Rabiya also posted an Instagram video of her and her boyfriend, Jeric Gonzales, during their training, assuring that no one was “badly harmed” during the making of the video.

“We were supervised by trained coaches. This exercise is good in building strength and power,” she captioned the post.

In the same interview, Jeric said that despite the “extreme” activity, they are both enjoying the training.

“Nae-enjoy namin yung mga ganung physical activity. Medyo extreme nga kasi, di 'ba, wrestling talaga. Natutuwa ako na nagkakasundo kami sa part na 'yun,” he said.

He added, “Ang lakas ni Rabiya. In fairness kay Rabiya, ang lakas niya talaga and syempre pag ako yung kalaban niya, magpapatalo na lang ako.”

Jiu-jitsu is also a form of training for Jeric, who is doing action scenes in Mga Lihim ni Urduja as police office Greg Sandoval of Team Urduja.
