Beauty, brains, and brawn, Winwyn Marquez has it all!
Recently, Winwyn announced that she has finally completed her Basic Citizen's Military Training under the Philippine Navy making her an official military reservist.
Let's take a look back at the journey of this beauty queen-turned-military reservist, here.
The color green holds a special place in Winwyn Marquez's heart. It was the color of her gowns during the Miss World Philippines 2017 and the Reina Hispanoamericana 2017 coronation nights. It is also the color of her uniform as an official military reservist.
Winwyn's first foray into pageantry was in Binibining Pilipinas 2015 where she placed among the top 15 candidates.
After a two-year-break from pageantry, Winwyn then wowed everyone when she joined Miss World Philippines 2017 where she was crowned Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas 2017.
Winwyn had a monumental victory at the Reina Hispanoamericana 2017 when she became the first Filipina to compete in and subsequently win the crown of the prestigious Latin-American pageant.
The following year, Winwyn then passed the crown onto Nariman Battikha from Venezuela.
Last February 2020, Winwyn enlisted in the Basic Citizen's Military Training under the Philippine Naval Reserve Command. However, it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It wasn't until August of that same year when Winwyn officially got to start her training.
Despite the difficult drills and exercises, one thing Winwyn really appreciated was that she wasn't given special treatment as a celebrity.
During her Basic Citizen's Military Training, Winwyn learned all about proper gun handling and safety which she now advocates for her followers.
The ongoing pandemic provided an extra layer of difficulty to Winwyn's course, still, she was determined to soldier on.
Winwyn was voted batch class president and graduated at the top of her class!
We salute Winwyn on her latest accomplishment!
