Jak Roberto shares his tech must-haves for starting your own YouTube channel

“Bida-bida Siblings” Jak Roberto and Sanya Lopez are known not only for their charming good looks and talent on screen but also for their wacky antics that they share on their YouTube channel.

In an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com, Jak Roberto shares that their newly minted Silver Play Button channel originally started as Sanya's channel.

“Originally, kay Sanya yung channel na iyon.

“But since marami na siyang subscribers, naisip ko, sayang naman kung sa page ko i-upload. E, wala naman akong subscribers kasi di ko rin siya na-promote before.”

Eventually, Sanya's YouTube channel evolved into a collaborative effort between the two--wherein Sanya provides the entertainment while Jak edits their videos.

During the interview, the Kara Mia star shared his gadget and tech must-haves in order to help you jump start your YouTube career.

Camera

According to Jak, you don't have to spend a hefty amount to get a good quality video.

For him, you can even use your mobile phone to serve as your camera.

He shares, “Actually, yung camera na ginamit namin sa Hong Kong vlogs namin hiniram ko lang kay Barbie [Forteza].

“Pero same quality naman. I mean, hindi naman nawawala yung quality sa phone ngayon kasi may phone na ngayon na may 4K resolution.”

Tripod

In order to stabilize your videos and avoid shaky footage, the Kapuso actor recommends using a tripod for your phone or camera.

For him, monopods like the DJI Osmo is good if you want to look professional when it comes to the vlogging scene.

Laptop

Jak shares that he prefers editing their videos on his laptop because it's easier for him to trim each clip.

But he also doesn't mind using his phone to edit short clips that he will share on various social media sites.

“Nag-edit ako sa laptop.

“Kasi pag sa phone medyo nakakaduling kasi ang liit eh. At saka, mahirap mag-trim sa phone kasi dapat talagang tutukan.

“Okay lang mag-edit sa phone kung 2-minute clip lang na pang-Instagram.”

Video Editing Software

Jak takes pride in editing all of their bida-bida videos on YouTube. As a matter of fact, he spends three hours for three days editing their videos at a nearby coffee shop.

He says, “Minsan three days akong nakaupo sa Starbucks, like, three hours akong nagpipipindot dun tapos tatlong araw kong ginagawa.”

“Ang editing software na ginagamit ko is yung iMovie sa laptop kasi straight-forward siya.

“Usually yun din yung ginagamit ng ibang YouTubers na pang-edit kaya minsan napapaisip ako kung magbabago ako. Pero okay naman yung software.

“Siyempre bawat palpak na sinasabi ni Sanya i-edit ko dun tapos lalagyan mo pa ng scoring para hindi boring.”
