Paul Salas on his love for all things cars
It's an inseparable pair - men and cars. And Paul Salas is no exception.
In an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com, the Kara Mia actor dishes out his love for all things cars. More specifically - the brand BMW.
Just like any boy growing up, the 20-year-old actor shares that his love for automobiles was all due to the influence of his dad.
He says, “Mahilig kami ni Dad sa BMW.
“Napakomportable ng drive, talagang kakaiba!
“Pati sa safety, iba. Kasi sa BMW lahat nagpa-pop up sa dashboard mo, kung ano yung magiging problema ng makina lalabas, so wala ka nang iintidihin.
“Matipid din yung BMW sa gas.”
Their love for cars eventually became a bonding moment for the two Salas.
“Sa sobrang favorite namin ni Dad ng BMW, minsan iyon na 'yung ginagamit namin. Kumbaga nagko-convoy kami at 'yun na yung bonding namin.”
Paul says that he has a total of three cars - two sedans, both BMWs, and an SUV - to which he uses the latter for taping days.
“Siyempre hindi palagi puwede sa taping 'yung BMW. So, sana dumami pa,” he says.
And his dream addition includes luxury cars that most car-aficionados dream of.
“Mahilig ako sa mga comfortable 'yung interior kaysa sa sports car.
“Mahilig ako sa Bentley, mga Range Rover na datingan at Rolls Royce.
“Magaganda 'yung interior at nakaka-relax. Hindi rin masyadong sports car ang tingin.
“Kasi 'yung mga ibang kabataan na tulad ko, gusto nila mga sports car tulad ng Ferrari. So ako, iba 'yung hilig ko, mas more ako sa interior.”
Lastly, what is his advice for new car owners in taking care of their precious four-wheeled babies?
“Si Dad kasi maraming kakilalang mga mekaniko. So, onting problema pa lang tinatawagan na namin at nagpa-pa-change oil na kami.
“Dapat every 10,000 kilometers nagpa-pa-change oil na, hindi talaga lalagbas.
“Kumbaga, kung nasa 9,000 kilometers na, ipapalit mo na.
“Alagaan mo rin kasi sayang naman yung pinaghirapan mo. Siyempre, dugo't pawis mo yan eh, so dapat alagaan mo talaga.”
