By Dianara Alegre

Due to the numerous reports and outcry of some affected residents of Taal Volcano's eruption over the safety of their animal pets, Kapuso star and dog lover Heart Evangelista has jumped into the online campaign that encourages the public to not abandon their pets during this difficult time.

On Tuesday, January 14, Heart took to Instagram to encourage public to keep their furry friends safe in this time of need.

“Just a friendly reminder from Yogi, Panda and Casper to keep your furry friends safe during this time. Let's not forget them in this time of need,” she wrote.

Aside from the reports of destructive ash fall in some parts of Batangas province, there were also some cases of abandoned animal deaths in the province.

Forty three years after its previous major explosion, Taal volcano spewed massive cloud of ash that drifted across the Southern and Northern parts of Luzon, including Metro Manila and Batanes Group of Islands in the extreme north of the country.

As of writing, Taal Volcano remains at Alert Level 4 following its phreatic eruption on January 12.

Fall of large rock fragments in some parts of Batangas were also reported.

Be sure to stay alert, aware, and updated, mga Kapuso!
