Ang Pinaka recently listed the top sweet date ideas for Valentine's Day, and the one that took the number one spot was Revisiting Old Manila.

This comes as no surprise as the city's Old-World charm has been attracting tourists for centuries, and has made it one of the favorite date destinations in the country.

So, if you're planning to go to Manila on your next date, we have suggestions of historic and romantic places you can visit. Check them out below.

1. Fort Santiago

The dungeon in Baluarte de Santa Barbara in Fort Santiago, Intramuros was previously a restricted area. But just recently, it was finally opened to the public. So, even if you've been to Intramuros before, it'll be a new experience for you and your date. Tickets are sold from 8 Am to 9 PM and gates close at 11PM.

2. Baluarte de San Diego Gardens

This well-landscaped garden is a popular wedding spot, but can also be a perfect place to hang out in or take a stroll with your special someone.

3. Plaza San Luis Complex

Plaza San Luis is a cultural and commercial complex, which houses Casa Manila, a museum showcasing late 19th century and early 20th century furniture usually found in homes of Filipino illustrados or the privileged class.

4. Manila Cathedral

The Manila Cathedral is also known as the Minor Basilica and Metropolitan Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. It has impressive architecture both in its façade and its interior, truly a must-see even for non-Catholics.

5. San Agustin Church

The San Agustin Church is also known as the Archdiocesan Shrine of Nuestra Señora de Consolacion y Correa or the Immaculate Conception Parish. It is said to be the oldest stone church in the country.

6. Jones Bridge

The newly-reconstructed Jones Bridge is also known as William A. Jones Memorial Bridge. It has been restored to its near-original design and is now very instagrammable and ideal for date night photos.

7. Manila Central Post Office

Nearby Jones Bridge is an equally beautiful attraction at night, the Manila Central Post Office. You can snap a few photos with your date here after checking out the Jones Bridge.

8. Manila City Hall & Bonifacio Monument

They currently have a replica of a U.S. Army Sherman Tank displayed at the Rodriguez Hall of the Manila City Hall, to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the battle and liberation of the City of Manila from the imperial Japanese forces. Nearby Manila City Hall is the Bonifacio and the Katipunan Revolution Monument or simply the Bonifacio Monument. It has been restored to its former glory, thanks to the initiative for Mayor Isko Moreno.

9. Rizal Park/Luneta Park

A trip to Manila is incomplete if you haven't explored the historic and iconic Rizal Park. It's considered one of the largest urban parks in Asia, so it's perfect for taking long walks or having a picnic with your special someone.
