If you want to take a timeout from the usual action-adventure anime like Dragon Ball Z or Naruto, here are the best-of-the-best sports-themed anime you can binge watch while under home quarantine. Who knows, these might motivate to get into an active lifestyle.

Prince of Tennis

While in the off-season, you can get your insane tennis action fix with Prince of Tennis. This anime series was adapted from the manga of Takeshi Konomi, which ran from 1998 to 2008.

Prince of Tennis features the adventure of tennis prodigy Ryoma Echizen, who returns to Japan from America to enroll to his father's alma mater Seishun Academy.

Expect some jaw-dropping rallies that will give you the urge to buy a racket and try out tennis for yourself.

Knockout (Hajime No Ippo)

Haikyuu

Another popular sports-themed anime that you ought to binge watch is Haikyuu.

This exhilirating and emotional sports comedy is the brainchild of Haruichi Furudate. It follows the adventure of Shōyō Hinata, who might be a little short for a volleyball player but possess an insane jumping abilities, and court genius Tobio Kageyama.

As the story progress, Hinata and Kageyama will need to sort out their differences and figure out a way to make their highschool team the best in Japan through their determination and incredible athletic skills.

Slam Dunk
