K-pop songs to practice while on quarantine

By Cara Emmeline Garcia

With the extension of the enhanced community quarantine in our midst, it's safe to assume that you're already running out of ideas to do.

Even for someone who is a homebody, being “stuck” at home for two months can get a bit boring.

So why not spice things up by learning a K-pop dance or two during this quarantine period? It will not only give you the chance to fill your time, but you also squeezed a bit of exercise along the way.

Who knows, you may be scouted by a talent agency once all of this is over --- at least you came prepared.

1 “Beautiful” by MonstaX

Release your Monbebe fandom by dancing to MonstaX's hit song “Beautiful.” By the end of the quarantine, you would've already mastered removing your jacket while dancing. You can also check out a detailed tutorial here.

2 “Lullaby” by GOT7

Woo your special someone with the smooth moves of the GOT7 boys in “Lullaby.” The dance moves feature quick-fire steps and b-boy moves that'll keep your heart pumping. You can also check out this tutorial for a more detailed version.

3 “Idol” by BTS

If you want to lose some serious pounds, try BTS's “Idol” which features acrobatics, high kicks, and hip hop moves that'll have you panting by the end of each dancing session. Check out the tutorial here.

4 “Fancy” by TWICE

Choose among nine girls who you want to emulate and dance to the rhythm of Twice's “Fancy.” Even if you have zero confidence in your dancing abilities, we're certain that anyone can follow this Twice chart-topper. Try Momo's dance tutorial if you're having a hard time choosing which member to stan.

5 “Thumbs Up” by Momoland

Just like their other choreography, “Thumbs Up” by Momoland features a lot of groove hip swinging in the chorus. It's also one of the easiest choreos to learn, so don't forget to smile and put those thumbs up!

6 “Wannabe” by ITZY

Unlike TWICE, ITZY's “Wannabe” hits different because their song features EDM sub-genres such as future house and bass house. So be prepared to dance to your heart's content with some hip hop moves that'll have you feeling empowered by the end of the 3-minute song.

7 “As If It's Your Last” by BLACKPINK

Get ready to get some ab workout with BLACKPINK's dance moves in their 2017 anthem, “As if It's Your Last.” By the time you mastered this, be sure to tag Lisa Manoban so she can see your dance moves.

8 “Sexy, Free and Single” by Super Junior

If you're into old school K-Pop and want to feel sexy, then maybe Super Junior's “Sexy, Free and Single” is your jam. Give this song a shot that features Zumba-inspired dance moves. By the end of the quarantine, you'll probably feel extra sexy, free, and not-so-single (no guarantee).
