Alodia Gosiengfiao's advice to aspiring streamers: 'Trust the process'

By Cara Emmeline Garcia

When you look at Alodia Gosiengfiao today, you'll see someone who's successful in the many facets of her career whether it be cosplaying, gaming, and her business.

But the 31-year-old personality said that it wasn't a smooth sailing ride to get to where she is now after a fan shared how he feels discouraged with his career as a streamer knowing that only a few share his passion.

Moved by the fan's words, Alodia replied by saying she understands his situation because she too felt the same way when she first started in her career.

“When I started gaming… wala pong sumusuporta.

“But, I still found a way. Balance ko studies, gaming, and other hobbies (art/cosplay/business).

"I graduated ADMU and still pursued my passion without expecting anything in return nor anyone to help me.”

She reiterated that while it may be discouraging at first, the result will eventually pay off if he only trusts the process.

“Parati ang nasa isip ko, masaya ako sa ginagawa ko, wala akong ginagamit [na tao] o tinatapakan at may natutulungan ako. At patient po ako.

“What I have now, I never asked for. Dumadating na lang po, and I am very grateful for that.

“I wish more people would realize: Okay, may skills, presentable 'yung stream, pero malaking bagay po 'yung values, and pagkatao ng isang tao.

“Trust the process, always be kind to others, and don't get discouraged. It took me 17 years from my first online game. Good luck!”
