Drive-in cinema is coming to Manila this September!

By Bianca Geli

Now that Metro Manila is under general community quarantine or GCQ, one of the new pastimes people can enjoy while practicing social distancing is experiencing a drive-in cinema.

The country opened its first drive-in cinema last July at the SM City Pampanga Amphitheater where moviegoers were allowed to watch films on the big screen from their vehicles while observing social distancing rules set by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF).

This September, SM Mall of Asia will be using their events ground as a drive-in cinema for vehicles with two to four passengers.

Tickets are reserved and purchased through the SM Cinema website. Each passenger is required to have their own ticket according to SM Cinema's official Facebook announcement.

For this month, Korean zombie film Train to Busan 2: Peninsula and American thriller flick Unhinged will be showing in the drive-in cinema.
