Michelle Dee shares experience of riding a luxury bike

By Jansen Ramos

Motorcycle enthusiast Michelle Dee takes pride in being one of the firsts in the Philippine to ride the new BMW R 18 power cruiser, alongside San Miguel Corporation Sports Director Alfrancis Chua.

Launched on Saturday, December 12, the BMW R 18 is powered by the largest boxer engine that the famed German brand has ever produced, displacing a whopping 1800cc.

"When I first saw it, I felt so intimidated because the bike was really big compared to me," Michelle stated.

The BMW R 18 is no ordinary bike as it features an open driveshaft that is inspired by the BMW R 5.

The cruiser bike has a double loop frame and teardrop-shaped tank that can carry 16 liters of fuel.

It may be classic in style, but its engine itself is high tech. It features a keyless ride, has different riding modes, and uses the part-integral ABS that automatically modulates the brake force.

Not to mention, the BMWR 18 has automatic stability control for a smooth ride experience.

She said, "It felt so light. It felt so nimble and I didn't feel it's a 1800cc bike.

"It felt like a toy, honestly. Before this, the biggest bike I've driven was 900cc."

Michelle added, "It's very empowering because the bike is so powerful. It made me feel powerful also.

"After riding it, feeling ko kayang-kaya ko na kahit ano."

The BMW R 18 retails at Php 1,955,000 apiece.
