Check out these cool Philippine heritage paper crafts

By Bong Godinez

The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) marked the 160th birthday of Jose Rizal last June 19 by releasing a bobblehead figure of the revered Filipino hero.

The figure features Rizal's trademark side part hairstyle, mustache, and a copy of his great novel, Noli Me Tangere.

But it's not just our national hero who has a display figure patterned after him.

It's actually part of the paper craft series by the NCCA featuring heritage sites in the Philippines.

These downloadable, easy to assemble paper crafts are available on NCCA's website.

The available models include the Rizal Monument, the soon to reopen Manila Metropolitan Theater, Banaue Rice Terraces, Aguinaldo Shrine, Malacañan Palace, Sultan Hassal Bolkiah Masjid (the largest mosque in the country), Quezon Memorial Shrine, Bonifacio Monument, Magellan's Cross, and Barasoain Church, among others.
