The mobile version launch of the online role-playing video game Cabal Mobile: Heroes of Nevareth in Vietnam and the Philippines was more asserted that mobile games are here to stay.
The game is set in the land of Nevareth, a thousand years after a cataclysmic event known as the Apocalypse.
In this new land, players are tasked to protect the land from a prophesied evil that has awakened and to learn the truth about the horrors that threaten to overrun the land.
During its Closed Beta Test (CBT), over 542,000 players joined in to try the game, prompting the developer to utilize a supplementary server to handle the load.
The official launch, meanwhile, attracted 45,000 concurrent players to welcome the game's foray into the mobile world.
Adding to the hype on the day of the release was the presence popular streamers and content creators joining the players in exploring the land of Nevareth.
The live stream event dubbed as “Cabal Mobile Charity Stream” was also for a good cause as it was designed to raise funds for the benefit of the Philippine General Hospital Medical Foundation Inc. and other charity partners to support the country's battle against COVID-19.
Competitive gamers are also in for a treat as the Nevareth League 2021 tournament will be rolled out soon, promising the biggest prize pool for a mobile MMORPG in the Philippines and Vietnam.
The tournament will feature 1v1, Team Deathmatch, and 5v5 modes, for players of different disciplines and backgrounds to have a platform to show off their perfectly honed skills in Cabal Mobile.
