A man was injured after he fell when the hanging bridge he was crossing snapped amid rushing floodwaters at a river in Libungan, North Cotabato on Friday, July 10, 2026.

Video footage showed the man holding firmly while the bridge swayed before it snapped.

The man fell and sustained injuries. He was rescued and has been given treatment.

In Glan, Sarangani, several homes were affected after floodwaters rose along the highway in Barangay Glan-Padidu morning on Saturday, July 11.

According to a barangay official, this was the first time such an incident had occurred. They said the river overflowed after water was released from an artificial lake in Barangay Mudan.

Authorities are still assessing the number of families affected by the flooding.

In Maasim town, the Kumabah Bridge has been temporarily closed after a portion of the structure was damaged by heavy rains.

An ambulance has been placed on standby to transport patients and respond to other medical emergencies while the bridge remains closed.

In Sultan Kudarat Province, a portion of the national highway in Barangay Christanuevo, Lebak town cracked and collapsed after non-stop rains caused the soil to weaken.

Because of this, large vehicles could not pass through the affected section of the highway.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-Region 12 has since responded to address the situation.

In Zamboanga del Sur, motorists were stranded after a landslide occurred and blocked a portion of the road in Tigbao town following heavy rains.

Authorities immediately conducted clearing operations to restore access.

Meanwhile, troops from the Philippine Army used a helicopter to transport the bodies retrieved from the landslide site in Sitio Fandao, Barangay Poblacion, Malapatan, Sarangani on Saturday.

The remains were brought to the town proper for burial arrangements.

Retrieval operations for the remaining body of a child continues, as of this writing.

The Malapatan Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) said 10 people from two households died after a landslide buried their homes on Friday.
