Bea Alonzo shows her airplane-inspired taping van

By Jansen Ramos

Bea Alonzo gave a tour of her customized van in her latest YouTube video uploaded on Saturday, October 9.

The Kapuso star takes pride in having a so-called "artista car" after being in the industry for two decades already.

"I've been in the business or 20 years but I never had an artista car before kasi I never really felt like I needed one since kadalasan naman 'pag nagpupunta kami sa set, nasa tent na kami agad until nagkaroon ng COVID. Feeling ko ngayon, it's become a necessity para sa trabaho namin because we go to a lot of different places and now that there's already this virus going around."

For Bea, it's important to take extra caution nowadays and she considers her van as her refuge.

She went on, "Parang feeling ko you really need that special place that could be your refuge away from the virus and away from everybody. Kasi ngayon, kailangan talaga natin ng social distancing and kahit na pag pumupunta ko sa farm namin, it's like five hours away from Manila, ayoko na 'yung baba pa ko ng gasoline station to use the restroom only because there's a pandemic we are facing."

Bea's newly-purchased van boasts high-tech features that include Alexa-controlled smart blinds and lights, media and light control system, smart TV, ample number of USB docks and outlets, internet connection, and among others.

It serves as her second home, so Bea makes sure to have her essentials with her like microwave, refrigerator, coffee machine, sanitary items, and functional captain chair that doubles as a massage chair and has mobile device wireless charging system.

Moreover, Bea's taping van has its own intercom that she can use to signal her driver, Kuya Lito, for some instructions.

Now that she has her own artista car, Bea usually stays there where she can read her scripts, eat her food, and even do her meetings. With that, privacy is very important for the versatile actress so she invests in two-way glass for her vehicle's windows.

Bea makes sure everything she needs is inside in her van. She installed overhead compartments on it where her medicine and first aid kits, bathrobe and towels, snacks, and clothing racks can be easily accessed.

The main highlight of the leather-upholstered van is her bathroom that has motion sensor technology. It has a shower, toilet, and lavatory and can hold up to 60 liters of water.

She further described, "It's really nice, para ka talagang nasa eroplano. I've always wanted to have my own private plane, pero hindi pa natin afford, so customized van na lang muna."

In case you're wondering where the waste goes, Bea made sure to secure a drainage container inside the van.
