Doctor to the stars Vicky Belo was also among the rosters of celebrities to give into the video-sharing platform TikTok.

In her guesting on Ogie Diaz' vlog, she shared how her TikTok journey started and how it evolved.

As a certified fashion lover, Dra. Belo had racks full of clothes on standby at home. She however could not sport her outfits because the pandemic forced everyone into their homes for months. This is where the idea of doing TikTok came in.

"Inisip namin ng social media manager ko 'di mag-Tiktok na lang tayo na puro 'tapon, ibang outfit' para may rason naman akong bumili di'ba?" She said.

As the COVID-19 pandemic affected the world's mobility, everyone was forced to stay at home. Belo and her family were no exception.

With this, she thought of starting out a few things online.

"I did TikTok. I did podcast and I did youtube. Sabay-sabay 'yan pumasok," she said.

In the beginning, her entries were mostly her fashion and her dance videos. Her dance entries, however, drew mixed reactions not only from the TikTok community but even from her personal friends as well.

"'Yung Tiktok pinaka fun in the beginning sayaw ako ng sayaw, pero kasi 'yung mga bashers ko even 'yung mga friends ko nag wonder kung may problema ba ako kasi they never expected me to do that," she explained.

"People are commenting behind your back, anong nangyari kay Vicki okay lang ba siya? In the beginning of course hurt ako, somebody explained it to me na I'm Dr. Vicki Belo and to their tingin dapat Dr.Vicki Belo ako most of the time."

She explained, "I have an image to protect, I have a clinic to protect, so I stopped na."

This is where she thought of using TikTok for something she has expertise in, dermatology and cosmetic surgery.

"Hinahanap ko 'yung saan ako dapat doon so we figured ang advantage ko is 31 years of practicing cosmetic dermatology and surgery na konti lang may ganon."

"Why don't we give short advice on TikTok. The people in TikTok mas bata eh, hindi ko naman sila masyado nakikita sa clinic but I want them to have good skin care habits kahit 15, 16, 18 kasi importante 'yan for the future kung hindi magkaka-scar so nahanap ko 'yung niche ko," shared Dra. Belo.

Belo's TikTok account currently has 1.4 million followers and has been giving helpful pieces of advice on proper skin care and the latest treatments.
