iBilib host Chris Tiu was ecstatic to have met again Filipino-Japanese golf superstar Yuka Saso, while playing at the Wack Wack Golf and Country Club.
Yuka brought home the 76th U.S. Women's Open golf championship title in 2021, which makes her the second youngest to achieve this feat. She was 19 years old then.
The golf champ also represented the country in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
In an Instagram photo with the young golf champ, Chris described Yuka as an “inspiration” to many.
He wrote in the caption, “Another starstruck moment with our sports hero Yuka Saso ! What a treat to watch her practice up close. Now inspired to take my game seriously and perhaps get my kids into golf too.”
The Kapuso host continued, “I still remember the last time we met was at the 2018 Asian Games at the Athletes village in Jakarta after they had just made history by winning the gold, together w/ Bianca Pagdanganan. She was just 17 yrs old then. And now, 4 years later, she continues to make history by winning the US Open in the LPGA and represented the PH in the Olympics.
“Thank you @yukasaso_official for being an inspiration and good luck in your career! Stay humble and hungry!”
Several celebrities reacted to Chris Tiu's photo with Saso including volleyball star Alyssa Valdez and Andi Manzano.
