'If you don't love yourself, who will?' - Max Collins

In her show Innamorata, Max Collins plays the role of Esperanza, a young woman who suffers from porphyria, a skin disease that develops blisters and swelling. Even with such condition, Esperanza wins the heart of the rich bachelor Edwin Manansala Delos Rosales, portrayed by Luis Alandy.

The beautiful Max believes that the physical aspect of a person doesn’t define who she is. She shares that she lauds women who exude charm and confidence more. “…Someone who’s confident but not to the point of being overbearing or mayabang… 'Yung contented siya sa sarili niya,” she said.

Max even recalled an ex-boyfriend who was very focused on looks. “Ina-appreciate niya ko in a physical way and ayaw ko nung ganun eh,” she shared. The actress even noted that this might’ve been the reason they broke up.

The Kapuso leading lady also admitted that she had moments of insecurity in the past. “Before, when I would feel bad about myself, parang ang feeling ko, I’m never good enough [but] when we broke up, that’s when I realized [na] ‘No, that’s what he made me feel,’” she declared.

Her show Innamorata, which she is honored to be part of, allows her to express that beauty is deeper than what most people may think. Thus, she gives a piece of advice to girls who doubt the beauty that they possess.

“At the end of the day, it’s how I feel about myself… My advice would be to love yourself, as simple as that. Kasi if you don’t love yourself, who will, 'di ba? Kung mababa lang 'yung tingin mo sa sarili mo, mababa rin 'yung tingin ng ibang tao sa 'yo kasi it’s what you inflict on yourself,” Max said.

Catch her in an inspiring love story in Innamorata, weekdays on GMA Afternoon Prime.
