The future is coming on for Rocco Nacino

Up in billboards, in TV commercials, movies and teleseryes, Rocco Nacino is everywhere you look. The Kapuso actor seems to have done it all in the industry, having taken on the most versatile of roles and winning acting awards. What more could this multi-faceted stud offer?

Unknown to many, Rocco has an entrepreneurial streak. In fact, he co-owns two boxing gyms, one in Ortigas and another in Marcos highway. He is currently planning to put up a third branch at The Fort.

Rocco added, “Iniisip ko ‘yung food business pero parang hindi pa yata kaya. We’re planning to set up a bar. We’re just looking for the right partners.”

Acting-wise, Rocco is game for anything, even for testing the waters on-stage. He was offered a role in theater before, but he had to turn it down due to his busy schedule. Assessing himself now, Rocco mentioned that he needs more confidence to pull it off, but he is still willing to give it a go.

He said, “I’d like a small role muna para ma-feel ko lang. Open ako sa ganoon. Napanood ko sina Gian [Magdangal] and French [Farr]. Ang galing, sobrang iba sa TV acting. Learning to do theater will help me as an artist. ”

On Sunday All Stars, there are times that Rocco would perform song and dance production numbers. Does he think that he has what it takes to become part of a musical?

The Kapuso leading man answered,“Musical would be fun, pero after workshops siguro. ‘Yun nga ‘yung ni-request ko sa Artist Center. I want to take voice lessons and workshops habang libre pa ako.”

Rocco’s ultimate goal is a far cry from the industry that has brought him to where he is today. He revealed, “When I’m done with this business, for sure, babalik ako. Magme-med school ako. I wanna get that ‘MD’ sa pangalan ko. Isa rin ‘yun sa goals in life ko.”
