Bela Padilla tries her hand at writing

Whether it be on television or the big screen, Kapuso actress Bela Padilla stuns. Now starring in a Singaporean TV series, Bela expands her range even further in a totally different discipline- writing.

Bela’s recent film, 10,000 Hours won big at the Metro Manila Film Festival. It also won recognitions in other prestigious award-giving bodies. Bela, who played a reporter with an adventurous streak in the film won Best Supporting Actress at the Gawad Tanglaw awards for her performance.

The story of 10,000 Hours was also well-received and award-winning. Unknown to some, Bela Padilla co-conceptualized the story of the film together with Neil Arce, Boy2 Quizon and Peter Serrano.

The Kapuso leading lady shared, “I didn’t write the whole story, but I helped conceptualize it. Also, they already had a peg. They already told us that they wanted a movie loosely based on the life story of Senator Lacson.”

Bela added that she started from there, then she did a lot of research. “We asked him also which parts we can include and not include. That’s how it happened,” said the Kapuso leading lady.

Besides writing screenplays, Bela is also dabbling into feature writing. She shared that she will now be a permanent contributor in a showbiz magazine. Her article will be coming out this month.
