Jackie Rice brings smiles to kids in Philippine Orthopedic Center

Kapuso star Jackie Rice will be celebrating her birthday on April 27, but she decided to have an advanced birthday celebration with children from Philippine Orthopedic Center in Quezon City on April 11. Jackie bonded with the kids in an afternoon of fun, games and gift-giving.

The children’s ward was filled with smiles as soon as Jackie entered. She was welcomed by the program’s host, Kambal Sirena star Tess Bomb. After giving a short message, it was time for Jackie to play a game with the kids.

Each of the kids were given a bottle of milk. They were supposed to finish the bottle of milk and greet Jackie “Happy Birthday”. The fastest of them all won a prize.

After this, everyone gathered together as Jackie blew her birthday candles. The kids sang the “Happy Birthday” song for Jackie as well.

One of the children gave Jackie a touching letter, which the Innamorata actress read aloud. Then, Jackie distributed gifts to every kid in the room. She also joined them in having scrumptious snacks.

GMANetwork.com caught up with the dramatic actress and comedienne after the program. She shared that she specifically chose to spend her advanced birthday celebration in Philippine Orthopedic Center. She has experienced fracturing her foot before and had to wear a cast for quite some time.

She said, “Happy ako kasi ‘yung mga tao dito, hindi sila nawawalan ng pag-asa. Happy rin ako na kahit papaano ay nabigyan ko sila ng kasiyahan today.”

When asked what her birthday wish is, Jackie answered, “Happiness, more projects, peace of mind and good health sa family ko at sa lahat.”
