What kind of roles appeal to Rocco Nacino?

An on-screen chameleon, Rocco Nacino seems to have done it all. He has portrayed a politician, a saint, a con artist, an evil boss and the list goes on. Every single time, Rocco has managed to wow in his performances. Among those he has done, which one is his favorite? What other roles is he keen on pursuing?

The award-winning actor revealed that breathing life into our National Hero, Dr. Jose Rizal would be the biggest honor for him.

Rocco has played Jose Rizal before in GMA News TV's "Pluma". It is a docudrama produced to commemorate national hero Jose Rizal's 150 birth anniversary. He shared, “I wanna do it again. I was supposed to be part of Katipunan kaso nga hindi natuloy. Sana makagawa ulit ako with [GMA] News TV at saka sinasabi ko na rin sa kanila na gumawa ng book two ng Bayan Ko.”

Naturally drawn to nationalistic and historically significant characters, the Kapuso leading man added, “Doon ako na-nominate sa Golden Screen [Awards]. I had two nominations. ‘Yung isa sa Pedro Calungsod, tapos ‘yung isa sa Bayan Ko. Bayan Ko had two nominations too. I’m really proud of the project. Hindi ko inakalang magiging ganoon siya. I’m happy na tinanggap ko iyon.”

Rocco revealed that he will be busy with projects after his European tour this April. He said that there is a huge possibility that he would be appearing in a TV project this May or June. He will also be busy working on an independent film which topbills the Superstar, Nora Aunor.

The Kapuso actor shared that viewers should expect another totally different side of him in his upcoming film. He describes his character as dark and out of the box. He also wants to experiment with his characters more in the future.

He said, “For me, YOLO (You Only Live Once). Lahat ng pwedeng gawin, gawin mo. Lahat ng experiences, subukan mo. That’s my outlook when it comes to my goals.”
