Sunshine was born on July 3, 1983 to Isagani Bengzon Dizon and Dorothy Cansancio Dizon.
She entered show business at the age of three, appearing in the movie 'God's Little Children.'
Sunshine won her first acting award, FAMAS Best Child Actress tropher for Kahit Butas ng Karayon, Papasukin Ko, in 1995.
She also became part of That's Entertainment for six months, joining the Friday group.
Sunshine got her biggest break on television when she was cast by GMA to portray the role of Sang'gre Pirena in the original Encantadia.
She was awarded as the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 2nd ENPRESS Golden Screen Entertainment TV Awards for her role in Encantadia.
Although Karylle and Iza Calzado switched networks, the four original Sang'gres of Encantadia remained friends.
They even attended the wedding of Iza Calzado to Ben Wintle.
After Encantadia and its sequels, Sunshine top billed the hit-series Bakekang, based on Carlo J. Caparas' character.
Sunshine temporarily stopped making television shows and movies in 2009, before returning in GMA's Mundo Mo'y Akin in 2013.
Sunshine will be reunited with her Ikaw Lang ang Mamahalin co-star Angelika dela Cruz in Inagaw Na Bituin, GMA's newest afternoon drama.
