Elmo Magalona, happy for sister Saab's engagement

It is no secret that the Magalona siblings have always been close. All eight of them grew up together and spent most of their lives with each other. How does Elmo feel that his sister, Saab is now engaged?

GMANetwork.com caught up with the Villa Quintana leading man during his charity birthday treat in a popular fast food chain in Katipunan last April 29.

Elmo described the feeling as surreal. He added, “I think it’s a good thing rin naman. We’re growing older and I think, sapat na ‘yung 20 years na kasama ko si Saab. I think someone else should be with her.”

Elmo mentioned that this decision of Saab is one of the best that she has made. He said, “I can see that she’s happy, she’s blooming and she’s very ready.

Parang sa relationship niya na ito, pinakita niya na she’s really ready to become a wife, to start her new life.”

The Kapuso actor also stated that he gets along well with Saab’s fiancé, Ernville vocalist, Jim Bacarro. He said, “Since they’re in the same band, parehas sila ng taste sa music. Basta, nagja-jive sila and I think importante ‘yun.”

Jim proposed to Saab during their vacation with the Magalona family in Japan. Elmo shared that the proposal happened in Ueno Park.

He recalled, “May mga plans kami for each day and then I think, third day namin iyon sa Japan. After lunch, pumunta kami sa Ueno Park. Naghiwahiwalay muna kami and then after an hour and thirty minutes, nagkita-kita ulit kami. Napagplanuhan na ni Jim. Sabi niya, dito na ako magpro-propose.”

Elmo likened the proposal to a romantic scene in a movie. He described, “’Yung pinili niyang spot, may cherry blossoms tapos sa likod niya, parang may mga lanterns. Sunset na noon, so noong nangyayari iyon, feeling ko unforgettable na iyon, not just for her but for the whole family.”
