Heart Evangelista holds first art exhibit

She proved this in her first ever art exhibit dubbed “I am Love Marie: The Art and Works of Love Marie Ongpauco,” in the Artist Space of the Ayala Museum. The 19-piece exhibit opened last May 8 and will run until May 22.

“[This is] my first ever exhibit, so dream come true talaga siya. [It’s a] childhood dream,” she said.

Some of her fellow Kapuso stars who have supported and visited the exhibit, to date, are Lovi Poe, Solenn Heussaff, Mark Bautista, Rhian Ramos and Carla Abellana. Political figures, meanwhile, who graced the opening were Grace Poe-Llamanzares, Sonny Angara, Loren Legarda, TG Guingona, and Cynthia and Manny Villar.

The opening was led by Heart, alongside Jaime Zobel de Ayala and boyfriend Chiz Escudero.

Heart admitted that she drew a lot of inspiration from Chiz as he encouraged her to keep painting despite the challenges.

“He was so supportive, he was there with me 24/7 while I was painting. Ini-inspire talaga niya [ako] to keep going, to never lose hope… Of course it was something I had to do for the first time, so I was very nervous,” she shared.

To reward herself from the stress of spearheading her own exhibit, Heart is going to France with Chiz. For the actress and painter, this wouldn’t be an ordinary trip as she previously promised herself that she will only go to Paris with someone she’s sure she’ll end up with.

“I was saving Paris for the person I was really gonna end up with, and since I’m sure I’ll end up with him, we’re going to Paris,” she joyfully said.

Meanwhile, Heart remains busy with her exhibit as it will run for two more weeks. The first few days have proved to be overwhelming and she thanks everyone who have shown their support.

“Thank you so much to everyone who came, [for] all the nice words, all the support. This means so much to me, to do something [that I love to do] for the first time and to be supported by everyone is just so heartwarming, so thank you,” she said.
