Miss World PH Gwendolyne Fourniol calls for donations for NGO

By Ron Lim

Miss World Philippines Gwendolyne Fourniol is doing everything in her power to advocate for her chosen cause, and this time around she's drumming up support for a fundraising effort.

In one the more recent posts on her Instagram account, Gwendolyne shared a short video of her explaining her initiative, #BridgeTheGapBuildTheFuture. The initiative seeks to raise funds and provide resources for the ERDA Foundation, a non-government organization that was founded in 1974 and “envisions a nation where all children and youth have access to quality education and holistic development in a supportive environment for them to have a better life.”

This is just the latest fundraising effort from Gwendolyne. During the holiday season last year, she spent Christmas Day with ERDA Foundation beneficiaries and distributed gifts to them.

Also in the previous year, she also wrapped up school supplies that she collected for the foundation, an experience that she described as “enlightening.”

Aside from collecting supplies for the ERDA Foundation, Gwendolyne has also been raising funds for the ERDA Foundation's future Learning Hub in Baseco, Tondo.

Just recently, she attended the signing of a memorandum of agreement for the learning hub she is helping to build.

She shared photos of her at the “simple but meaningful” event on her Instagram account. In the caption to the post, Gwendolyne shared how inspired she was by the story of ERDA Foundation's Father Pierre Tritz, who established a school for underprivileged children that unfortunately had to close down during the COVID-19 pandemic. She said that his story pushed her to dream big for her countrymen just like he did.

At the start of this year. Gwendolyne visited the site of ERDA Foudnation's Learning Hub to conduct an ocular inspection of the 25 square meter lot that will be the location of the two-story building. She shared her resolve to help build the Learning Hub on her Instagram account, writing that she would help raise funds and gather resources from different stakeholders.
