Gwen Zamora pinapili kung drama o comedy

She is one of the few actresses that could strike a balance between two genres and do it powerfully and effectively.

Today, we see Gwen Zamora in two ways – one is a demure, enraged and vengeful woman from the 1930s and the other, a wacky and silly lady, similar to how she is in real life.

GMANetwork.com asked the Filipino-Italian actress if it’s difficult to be both in the soap Innamorata and the gag show Bubble Gang. According to Gwen, drama and comedy are like apples and oranges. “Hindi mo ma-co-compare. In a sense, ibang medium 'yung dalawa eh,” she said.

The two vary greatly in what they offer and take away from you, she noted. “Yung drama, in-i-invest mo talaga 'yung buong heart and soul mo. Unlike comedy, it’s light. It fills your heart and soul naman,” she added.

Gwen wouldn’t want to pick one over the other as both help her become a more versatile actress and give her the balance she needs.

“I love it kasi I get that balance, kasi kung drama lang ang gagawin ko, mababaliw na talaga ako. So at least may break ako in between. May drama, may comedy… [Doing comedy] lightens up my week,” she shared.

Drama, meanwhile, sends her to a whirlwind of emotions. Innamorata, for instance, requires her to portray someone who harbors a lot of angst. According to her, viewers should expect more twists and turns in the story.

“It’s getting very intense. Ang dami pang mangyayari na maloloka talaga kayo. Pati ako,’pag nababasa ko 'yung script, I’m like ‘what?’ So syempre, viewers would be more shocked than I am, so 'yun, kailangan abangan,” she declared.

Find out what Alejandra is capable of doing to win the man she loves, weekdays in Innamorata. You can also catch Gwen every Friday on Bubble Gang.
