Alden already misses ‘Carmela’

Only a few days after Carmela ended, its leading man Alden Richards already misses working on the show.

The role holds a special place in his heart, not only because it was the most recently concluded, but it also gave him the rare opportunity of being paired up with Primetime Queen Marian Rivera.

Asked about what he holds most dearly about the project, he doesn’t talk about how it paved the way for a wider audience to recognize him or the big break that he got, but rather the people who made the experience, one that he’ll treasure forever.

“Nag-marka sa akin 'yung mga tao. Sa lahat ng team na [nakasama ko sa] soap, ito 'yung pinaka paborito ko sa lahat. Sobrang mahal na mahal ko ‘tong Carmela… From director hanggang sa utility. Wala akong masabi, hanggang sa PM, lahat,” he shared.

The same holds true for his co-stars whom he learned so much from and had a lot of fun with.

Alden, who feels privileged working around a talented and devoted team, gives us a glimpse of how his fellow actors are by describing them through an adjective each.

Jaclyn Jose is supportive.

“Because every scene we do together, talagang she’s hands-on and gives me pointers on how to deal with [the scenes]. Talagang she makes time for me na mabigyan niya ‘ko ng advice before doing it so it really helps.”

Roi Vinzon is funny.

“Before we do takes, talagang unconsciously, hindi niya alam na nagpapatawa siya. Unconsciously akala niya hindi siya nagpapatawa pero natatawa kami sa kanya.”

Raymond Bagatsing is cool.

“Cool lang siya in everything that he's doing in his character in Carmela. Chill lang siya. The way that he attacks Dante's part was simply cool.”

Agot Isidro is serious.

“Since I've worked with Ms. Agot, I've always seen her as a serious person. Serious and siguro truthful in all the words that come out of her mouth. So in short, real person.”

Krystal Reyes is makulit.

“Krystal is makulit kasi pag nagkikita kaming dalawa sa set, kumbaga sa buong Carmela, siya yung pinaka malapit sa age range ko so 'yung interests namin medyo tweens pa, medyo ganun 'yung dating so kulitan lang.”

And because a word won’t suffice…

Marian Rivera is fun, extraordinary, exceptional, beautiful, sexy, hot, and true.

“Totoo siya. She’s a true person. Siya yung buhay ng set namin. Hindi bumababa ang energy niya from 7 a.m. to 7 a.m. the next day.”

To Alden, it’s also impossible to forget the people behind the camera who have made the soap worth watching each night and worth looking forward to the following night.

“My favorite director, Direk Dominic Zapata, my favorite EP, Ms. Carol Galves, my favorite AP Ms. Acris Tobias, and yung mga PAs. Talagang family na kami sa set eh,” he shared.

As difficult it is to leave the project behind, Alden knows that he made a lot of new friends through Carmela and he’s hopeful that he will get to work with them again.

“Small world lang naman 'to. Hopefully, magkatrabaho uli kami,” he said.

As he closes this chapter in his life, he opens a lot of new ones. For news on Alden’s upcoming movies and projects, keep visiting GMANetwork.com.
