Chef Boy Logro is not only a master in the kitchen but also of life. His rags-to-riches story proves that hard work and passion for craft can propel one to the top. For his success in the culinary industry, he was named career ambassador by TESDA.

Hailing from a fishing village in Leyte, the man we now call Kusina Master started out as a houseboy in Quiapo. His life changed when he was given the chance to work abroad in a Sultan’s kitchen in Oman.

He had the insatiable thirst for learning and the drive to excel in cooking. These qualities have led to his promotion of head Chef of the Sultan’s palace. After 10 years, he returned to the Philippines and became the first Filipino Executive Chef of a five-star restaurant.

By then, he was earning P 350,000 a month, but he decided to make use of his hard-earned money to help others. Thus, he put up his own culinary school in Cavite, Chef Logro’s Institute of Culinary and Kitchen Services.

Now a host of GMA shows, Idol sa Kusina and Basta Everyday Happy, Chef Boy continues to inspire.

In an interview with Balitanghali, Chef Boy shared, “Parang legacy na puwede pala to inspire all the people ng ating bansa. Puwede kahit hindi graduate kapag nagsusumikap ka at ibibigay ang title, katulad ngayon na career ambassador ako ng TESDA.”
