Philippine bet Michelle Dee posted a few snaps from a photoshoot featuring the Apo Whang-od-inspired gown shortly after finishing in the top 10 of the 72nd Miss Universe pageant, which was held in El Salvador.

The photos were accompanied by a short message, thanking everyone who supporters her in her Miss Universe journey.

“We did what we could but destiny has greater things for us! Everything always happens for a reason,” she started her post.

“I'm still trying to compose my thoughts [and] feelings with everything going on, but all I know is I'm truly indebted to all of you! We showed the whole universe what our #bayanihan spirit can do and let's keep shaking them. Mahal na mahal ko kayo,” she said.

Michelle failed to advance in the top 5 of the competition. Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua was crowned as this year's Miss Universe.

The Filipina beauty and Kapuso actress was considered as one of the top contenders in the competition, wowing pageant fans across the world with her preliminary competition performance.

Despite the loss, Michelle still had a strong performance in the pageant. She has likewise received messages of support from fellow stars and beauty queens.

Good friend and fellow actress Rhian Ramos said in a comment, "My Queen." While fellow beauty queen Pauline Amelinckx praised Michelle's dedication. She said, "You are such a force! 🖤 from your thoughts and ideas to your willpower and dedication for the Philippines."
