Actress Andrea Torres hasn’t only charmed Filipino viewers as she has also gained a following in our Southeast Asian neighbor Cambodia.

Recently, one of its major TV networks aired a dubbed version of the 2012 remake of Sana Ay Ikaw Na Nga.

Together with co-stars Mikael Daez and Carla Abellana, Andrea went to Phnom Penh to promote the show. Andrea was overwhelmed with the warmth that they were received with.

“Nakakatuwa po kasi hindi po namin akalain na ganun siya magiging hit,” she said in Walang Tulugan.

“Syempre, ibang country [yun kaya] hindi mo alam what to expect, pero kung paano tayo mahalin ng Pinoy dito, ganun din sila magpakita ng suporta nila dun so nakakatuwa talaga,” she added.

She got to watch the show dubbed in Khmer, Cambodia’s official language, and witnessed how the locals responded to it.

“Talagang apektado yung mga tao. Actually, ang tawag nila sa ‘kin dun, Cecilia, 'yung role ko talaga,” she said.

Andrea also shared that a dubbed version of With a Smile, the romantic comedy she starred in with Mikael Daez and Christian Bautista, will also air in the country.

The 24-year-old actress expressed her gratitude to the Cambodians and the Filipinos in Cambodia. “[Nagpapa]salamat ako sa mga Kapuso po natin na nadun sa Cambodia sa napaka-init na pagtanggap nila sa amin for Sana Ay Ikaw Na Nga, saka dun sa With A Smile na ipapalabas na rin… Nakakatuwa talaga,” she concluded.
