No communication between Saab, Maxene Magalona for seven months

The two Magalona girls are known to play kontrabida roles. Once in their relationship, they were villains in each other’s lives too.

In their guesting in Basta Every Day Happy, sisters Saab and Maxene Magalona admitted that they didn’t speak to each other for over half a year while they were in college.

“There was a time, hindi kami nag-usap for seven months. As in every time na nagkikita sa school before, we both studied in the same college, tapos ‘pag nagkakadaaanan, talagang it’s like [the other] didn’t exist. Talagang kebs,” Maxene shared.

Maxene did not like the guy that her little sister was dating so she was very vocal about her being against him.

“Kasi sobrang love ko talaga si Saab and she’s like my baby so when there was a guy who used to go for her tapos hindi ako approve… sabi ko, “ayaw ko nung lalaking yan. Naging sarado ako,” she admitted.

“Kasi ayaw [ko] na 'yung lalaki, napapalayo sa ‘min 'yung kapatid ko. Ayaw ko 'yung ganun na 'yung lalaki, ilalayo 'yung babe din sa pamilya niya. Hindi dapat 'di ba? Hindi dapat ganun,” she added.

Saab, on the other hand, continued going out with the guy.

“Sobra kasi naming love 'yung isa’t-isa so ‘pag may boyfriend, very judgmental kami sa [choices ng] isa’t-isa… Pero para sa akin, kung magbreak man 'yung heart ko, [okay lang because] it builds character” Saab said.

After seven months of ignoring each other, Maxene and Saab’s common friends decided to do something for the two sisters.

“Nakakatawa 'yun. Parang drama talaga. Dinala ako ng friends namin sa condo niya, tapos nag-doorbell, tapos si Max, binuksan niya 'yung pinto, tapos ako, [umiyak], Saab recalled.

That moment and all the pain before, made them decide that they wouldn’t allow anything or anyone to get in between them. “Now that I’m much older and mas may alam na ‘ko ngayon, I can say na 'yung away namin na seven months na 'yun, nakatulong talaga sa amin kasi na-realize namin kung gaano namin kamahal 'yung isa’t-isa at kung gaano namin ka-kailangan at namimiss 'yung isa’t-isa,” Maxene declared.

Now that those days are long gone and her little sister is getting married to Jim Bacarro, a guy who Maxene greatly supports, she couldn’t be happier.

“I’m really so happy. I know it means na kailangan ma-let go ko na 'yung baby sister ko pero it’s not like that kasi alam kong palaging nasa akin lang talaga si Saab. She will always be mine and I’m so happy… I love Jim, her fiancé, and I want to thank Jim for taking care of her,” Maxene said.

She also noted how her sister helped her become who she is today. “I just want to tell the whole world how Saab is such a big part of who I am today and I thank her for helping me. I want to thank her for never giving up on me kahit matigas ulo ko,” she concluded.
