Miss Universe Philippines contestants

Strong candidates are beginning to stand out as the Miss Universe Philippines puts the delegates through different challenges.

There's still more than a month before the Miss Universe Philippines crowns a successor to Kapuso beauty queen Michelle Dee, but that doesn't mean that the competition isn't already heating up.

In one of the more recent posts on its official Instagram account, the beauty brand Hello Glow named the top six candidates for its collaboration runway show with the Miss Universe Philippines organization. Clinching the spots are Miss Pampanga Cyrille Payumo, Miss Bacoor Victoria Vincent, Miss Iloilo Alexie Brooks, Miss Baguio Tarah Valencia, Miss Quezon Province Ahtisa Manalo, and Miss Lucban Rikki Dela Peña who won the fan vote.

The runway show comes after the Miss Universe Philippines organization announced that the coronation night for this year's pageant would be held on May 22 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. Tickets will go on sale starting on April 8, Monday next week.

The public has been getting to know this year's Miss Universe Philippines candidates through the organization's official Instagram account, which has shared their official headshots, swimsuit shots, as well as the candidates in their evening gowns.

The delegates are all competing to take the place of current reigning Miss Universe Philippines Michelle Dee, who visited the candidates during their contract signing with the Miss Universe Philippines organization. On Instagram, the Miss Universe Philippines organization described Michelle's visit as “really special”.

The candidates might even get some advice from Michelle, as the Kapuso beauty queen has previously shared that she has no problem coaching whoever her successor may be.
