Kapuso actress Andrea Torres cherishes her time working in the longest-running gag show on Philippine TV, Bubble Gang. According to her, this gives her the opportunity to show her comedic talents and her funny side.
“Actually nagulat po ako nung sinabi sa akin na magiging regular na rin ako sa Bubble Gang kasi hindi ko naman nakita [ang] sarili ko na komedyana although mahilig ako magkenkoy-kenkoy pero usually sa mga tao lang na close sa akin. So, ang saya kasi at least nakikita nila 'yung ibang side ko.”
Moreover, Andrea makes sure that she maximizes her time in the show by observing and working closely with her co-actors in Bubble Gang. Since the show is a melting pot of the country’s best comedic talent, Andrea takes advantage of this opportunity to hone her funny bone.
Andrea said, “You work with the best comedians talaga, and they always teach you. Hindi sila nagkukulang sa pagbigay ng tips, so ang gandang learning experience siya, especially si Kuya Bitoy, talagang very open siya. Shinishare niya talaga kung anong alam niya.”
Aside from Bubble Gang, Andrea is all set to star in the teleserye Ang Lihim ni Annasandra. The Kapuso actress admitted during an interview with GMANetwork.com, that she is more comfortable doing drama, rather than a comedy or gag show.
She said, “Sa comedy kasi parang nagstastart pa lang [ako] eh. Sa drama kasi nakadalawa na rin. It’s been a while na rin, tapos nakapag supporting roles na rin ako before, so 'yun po.”
Blessed and busy with Bubble Gang, Sunday All Stars and Ang Lihim ni Annasandra, Andrea keeps in mind that she can’t simply rest on her laurels and she must exert extra effort to constantly improve her craft.
“Naniniwala ako na hindi ka [dapat] titigil talaga eh. Laging mayroon at mayroon bago. Kailangan lagi kang nag-aadjust, laging hinahanap mo kung ano pa 'yung puwedeng makapagpaimprove sa acting mo. So kahit matagal na akong nag-dradrama hindi ko masasabi na master ko na siya or super kampante na ako sa kanya.”
