Former Binibining Pilipinas International Nicole Borromeo is calling on the public to be careful as someone is impersonating her on messaging app Telegram.
In one of the more recent posts on her Instagram account, Nicole posted multiple images showing messages of the impersonator scamming people of thousands of pesos. Nicole called on her fans and Instagram followers to not trust anyone claiming to be her on Telegram or any other platform. In the caption to the post, Nicole also emphasized that she is not affiliated with any loan or financial transactions.
Nicole is just the latest celebrity whose image is being used by scammers to fleece people of their money. Back in July, the Sparkle GMA Artist Center warned people about scammers using Kyline Alcantara's name to solicit donations for the victims of Typhoon Carina.
The Sparkle GMA Artist Center uploaded a graphic on their official Instagram account warning people that there have been fraudulent Viber messages circulating. In the messages, the user pretends to be Sparkle artist Kyline Alcantara and solicits donations for victims of Typhoon Carina.
Sparkle advised people not to “respond or provide any personal information.” They also advised people to verify the sender's identity first and to “stay vigilant”.

Aside from Kyline, Miss World Philippines national director Arnold Vegafria took to social media the week before that Sparkle post to warn the public about people using his name and the Miss World Philippines organization to scam people during the aftermath of Typhoon Carina.
In a statement released on the different ALV Pageant Circle social media accounts, Vegafria warned that “unscrupulous individuals” have been suing his name and social media platforms to “solicit donations on behalf of Miss World Philippines for the Typhoon Carina victims.”
Vegafria clarified that he is not asking for donations on his social media accounts and advised people to ignore any requests using his name. He also shared that he is “in the process of investigating this heinous cybercrime”.
