Kobe and his wife Vanessa named their second daughter Gianna Maria-Onere. She has three sisters named Natalia, Bianka, and Capri.
The 13-year-old Gianna was born on May 1, 2006.
Kobe wrote a heartfelt birthday message for Gianna last year on Instagram. He said, “Happy 13th birthday my Gigi! I love you beyond measure baby #teen #daddysgirl #tauro #mambacita.”
They fondly called her Gigi.
After retiring in 2016, Kobe focused on coaching Gianna's middle school team.
According to several reports, Gianna was interested in going to the University of Connecticut in the collegiate league.

In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Kobe was asked if Gigi might want to play in the WNBA. The basketball legend replied, "She does for sure."
