Dion Ignacio aminadong hindi confident mag-English

Don't be surprised to see Kapuso hunk Dion Ignacio with his nose buried in his books. He's just busy preparing for his role in the new Afternoon Prime soap, Kailan Ba Tama ang Mali?
Dion will be playing Oliver, a wealthy owner of an ad agency who will get in between the rekindling of estranged couple, Leo and Amanda's love.
He says the role challenged him as it was his first time to play a character who was born in wealth instead of coming into it.
"'Yung ibang role ko, poor tapos yayaman. Ito mayaman agad," he explains. "Kailangan kong basahin talaga 'yung mga dialogue ko kasi sa totoo naman hindi ako ma-English na tao. Pero itong character na ito, para mabuhay, kailangan kong maging ganun. Lagi kong binabasa 'yung script."
Aside from reading his script over and over, he also hits some English books. Did his voracious reading bear any fruit?
"Sa ngayon, hindi pa buo. Parang kailangan mas confident pa, medyo nakukulangan pa ko. Pero eventually, mga ilang weeks na taping at saka basa, mabubuo din 'yung character na 'yun, 'yung attitude ko," he admits.
Aside from constantly reading, he says he also thinks of other ways to master the character of Oliver.
"Minsan gusto kong makipag-socialize. Minsan naisip ko na gumimik sa magagandang bars para nakakakita ako ng mga katulad ni Oliver," he shares, adding that he wants to show audiences a character different from what they've seen in Innamorata, his previous project.
