Kapuso actor Derek Ramsay officially moved into his new home in March of 2020 even though it was not yet 100% finished because the family who bought his old house had already moved in.
In his YouTube vlog, Derek explained that his new home is where he will raise his kids.
He said, “This is home for me, I love the Philippines, this is where I wanna live, this is where I wanna raise my kids.”
Take a look at Derek's modern three-story house through these pictures.
The exterior of Derek's house gives a clue about who lives there with its modern and masculine look.
Another artwork that can be seen upon entering the house was created by another Filipino artist, Dominic Jinon.
The black sofa is from Zaha Hadid Architects, an internationally-renowned architectural firm. Derek explained, “Mahilig talaga ako sa talking pieces and these are Zaha Hadid couches.”
The swimming pool blends well with the house's aesthetics thanks to its dark color theme.
The reason Derek chose the bamboo ceiling of their pool area was to have a “resort-feel but homey” ambience.
Since their parents are not getting any younger, there's an elevator that they can use to go to the upper floors of the house.
Some of the awards that Derek has collected through the years are displayed on the first floor.
Derek also made a room for his parents on the first floor of the house. He called it the "junior master's bedroom."
Another masterpiece from Jinggoy Buensuceso is the headboard of Derek's bed. It was inspired by the Grand Canyon.
In their master bathroom, there are two sinks. There is also an artwork by renowned painter Benedicto Cabrera.
Derek's son, Austin, also has his room in the house. Derek revealed that he has to knock before he can come into Austin's room.
There's also a gym in their house. Derek added that he is still thinking if he will add a golf simulator.
Derek also has a trophy cabinet in their gym where he displays his awards.
The masterpiece of Derek's house is an artwork by Jinggoy Buensuceso that is located in the center of the space. “This is the best place to view the work of Jinggoy. You stand here, talagang ma-a-appreciate mo how detailed his work is.”
Underneath the house is the basement parking. It can fit Derek's three cars and Austin's car.
There's a 7-ton rock in their garden, just outside the junior master bedroom. Derek said that they needed a crane to place the rock there.
