It may be a belated celebration, but very special nonetheless.
Kapuso actress Heart Evangelista, who turned 36 last February 14, visited the Jardin de Maria Orphanage in Sorsogon to spend time with the children there.
“Meaningful moments that matter the most,” Heart wrote on her February 23 Instagram post.
“Spent a day with the lovely kids and sisters of the Jardin de Maria Orphanage here in Sorsogon for a late birthday celebration.”
Heart shared pictures of her visit, showing her handing out gifts to the kids, who were happy and excited to see the actress in person.
Speaking of children, Heart recently opened up about her initial struggles of being a stepmom to the kids of her husband, Sorsogon Governor Chiz Escudero.
“I remember there was this moment where I had one eyeliner on and Chesi was being difficult and my hair was wet and I was doing her ponytail and she was crying and we were in the States and there was no yaya,” Heart recounted.
“Can I really do it?” Heart asked herself, questioning her ability and patience to be a stepmom.
“It's really going to push you to your limit because having a child is very special but your patience has to be the long and winding road you know because technically they are not really yours.”
Fortunately, everything turned up well and Heart is getting along just fine with Chiz's kids.
“You'll never be their mom. You have to understand that and you have to respect that they'll always have their mom. You're just probably going to be their tita but their fun tita,” she said.
“They'll feel that if you force yourself or if you're trying hard you just have to be yourself. You have to have pure intentions.”
