On Sunday, August 8, Miss Philippines Earth 2020 Roxanne Allison “Roxie” Baeyens officially relinquished her crown to Syrian-Filipino Naelah Alshorbaji of Parañaque City.
The virtual ceremony saw Naelah besting more than 60 beautiful aspirants to the title and the honor to represent the Philippines at the Miss Earth 2021 pageant, which is set to take place sometime this year.
For Roxie, the passing of the crown signified the end of one journey and the beginning of new adventures.
But before that, Roxie cherished her reign one last time by posting a series of photos for posterity before giving way to her successor.
The result, needless to say, was stunning and reminded everyone why Roxie emerged victorious from last year's pageant.
So without further ado, here is Roxie Baeyens as Miss Philippines Earth for the final time.
Roxie looks dazzling as she relishes being Miss Philippines Earth for the last time.
Roxie's victory last year was online as the pandemic prompted organizers to stage the event virtually for safety reasons.
The pageant's virtual coronation was telecast live on GMA on July 5, 2020.
Roxie was crowned Miss Earth - Water at the Miss Earth 2020 pageant won by Lindsey Coffey from the Unites States.
Roxie hails from the country's "Summer Capital," Baguio City.
“To be part of something so meaningful -- that was the best part,” wrote Roxie, reflecting about her reign.
“What an amazing year with such an amazing cause. All I can say is thank you. So excited for our new Queen of the Earth and her Elemental Court,” she said.

Roxie also did a mermaid-inspired concept for a photoshoot.
“She is a mermaid on dry land and the world was her ocean,” wrote Roxie.
The concept has a fairy tale vibe suited to her title as Miss Earth-Water.
Prior to winning Miss Philippines Earth in 2020, Roxie won Miss Tourism & Culture Universe Philippines in 2019.
During a guesting on 'Rise Up Stronger: NCAA Season 96,' host Martin Javier revealed that he and Roxie were classmates in an acting workshop before.
Will Roxie consider joining show business now that she's free from her Miss Philippines Earth duties? We'll keep an eye on that.
Good luck on your next adventures, Roxie.
