Meet the Palisocs

Veteran theater actor Joonee Gamboa and well-respected movie actress Marissa Delgado give life to the zany couple from Fulhaus, the Palisocs. They are the father and mother of Ful (Vic Sotto) and Onemig (Jose Manalo), as well as the doting grandparents of BJ Forbes. Meet Pidyong and Anda Palisoc in the flesh! Text by KC M. Abalos. Photos by Mitch S. Mauricio. Pidyong Palisoc Joonee has been playing Vic Sotto’s father since Daddy Di Do Du. Will there be any similarities in the characters of Pidyong and Gener? He answers with, “Oo. There will be similarities, because one thing beautiful about Daddy Di, and I think it will happen here, it’s a very relaxed show. Hindi siya hyper!” Pidyong is much more low key than Gener. He is a weakling whenever his wife Anda is around. This will make the audience wonder as to how Joonee prepares for such an interesting character. He replies with the assurance of a true thespian. “Nagcollect ako ng costume, ng salamin. Ako kasi every character ko ibang salamin kasi mahina memory ko. I have to have a good pair of glasses para I can glance at the script. Iyong salamin nakatama doon sa character ko.” Anda Palisoc Marissa Delgado can make good or evil acting look very real. So you either hate or love her based on her many portrayals on television and film. This is the result of years of experience in the industry. How did she brace herself to play the domineering wife of Pidyong? “Nag-iisip ako ng mga role models pero alam kong si Joonee Gamboa magliligtas sa akin. Matagal na kami nag-wowork together. Asawa ko, ka-eksena ko.” she says with a laugh and then adds, “I find my role comfortable.” Marissa then describes her character, “nakaka-asar akong biyenan or mang-aasar akong biyenan. Pero, ano rin pala, may puso.” Anda’s mission is to make life difficult for Grace, the wife of Ful, played by Pia Guanio . Pidyong and Anda may clash but the unlikely couple agrees that the Filipino audience will love Fulhaus. For in the end, through good times and bad, there is nothing more important than family.
