Stolen Life actress and animal rights advocate Carla Abellana shared last Sunday, August 20, the sad news that her furry friend Patches passed away.
The versatile Kapuso actress wrote an emotional letter on Instagram to bid farewell to her pet dog. She even recalled the moment when her stepdad, Neri, introduced Patches to her 11 years ago.
“Her purpose was to bring light and companionship into my life,” she wrote in her caption.
“It was during a very dark period of my life when my Stepdad, Neri, surprised me with PATCHES. I came home from work late one evening to see her inside a small crate. Right there and then, I truly felt I was no longer going to be alone. I fell in love with Patchy Poo.”
Carla continued, “Fast forward to 11 years, God decided that she had already fulfilled her purpose here on earth. He suddenly needed her back. Though I wasn't even given the chance to protest, I had to respect the Lord's painful decision to take her away from me.
“I cannot even begin to express how painful it is to lose my Patches. Just as my heart had started to heal, it shattered yet again.
“You have my heart always and forever, Patchy Poo. Please say hi to the two Rockys, Sunny and Wing for me. I imagine you all running around the rainbow bridge together, and that gives me a tiny bit of comfort.
“I'm going to miss your big, bright, naughty smile, my Patchy. Abu.”
Back in November 2020 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Carla confirmed the devastating news that her pet dog Wing died.
In an interview with GMANetwork.com, Carla stated that she grew up as an animal lover.
She said then, “Hindi lang siya for the sake of having an advocacy, hindi lang dahil kumbaga as celebrities we have a social media presence, but really it's what I'm passionate about."
She added, “I grew up talaga being an animal lover, so nadala ko lang 'yun.”
Several celebrities offered their heartfelt condolences to Carla after learning the death of her furry friend Patches.
Former 'Bubble Gang' comedienne Dasuri Choi commented on Carla's heartbreaking IG post about Patches.
