Allen Dizon gets tattooed by Apo Whang-od

Abot Kamay na Pangarap actor Allen Dizon finally ticked off another goal from his bucket list when he finally met and got tattooed by world-renowned traditional tattoo artist Apo Whang-od.
Allen shared the “unforgettable experience” and milestone on his Instagram account. Included in the post were his and Apo Whang-od's photos that showed his extreme delight while being tattooed by the traditional mambabatok.
The Kapuso star was also one of the many who was inked by Apo Whang-ods iconic three-dot design which, as discussed by Vogue Philippines, represents three generations of mambabatok -- herself, Grace, and Elyang, who is her second protégé.
Aside from that, the three dots also serve as ellipses that signify “open-endedness and a continuation that extends beyond its origins.”
Apo Whang-od, alongside other mambabatoks in the area, does their tattoo with an unused bamboo stick with a thorn on one end dipped in soot and charcoal mixture. She then beats it onto the skin of her client until the design is finished.
While Whang-od is one of the oldest mambabatoks in Buscalan, history is ensured to live on as the tattoo icon made sure to pass on her legacy to her family.
Meanwhile, supporters of Allen and avid fans of Abot Kamay na Pangarap loved his recent adventure and shared their support for his trips.
A netizen even humored the actor and said, “Kaya pala nawawala si Doc Carlos, nagpapatatoo kay Apo Whang-Od.”
Allen Dizon plays the role of Doc Carlos in the GMA hit series Abot Kamay na Pangarap starring Carmina Villaroel and Jillian Ward. It airs from Monday to Saturday at 2:30 p.m. on GMA Afternoon Prime.
