Releasing a UK single, a 'suntok sa buwan' for Christian Bautista

After penetrating the Southeast Asian music scene, Asia's Romantic Balladeer has his eyes set in the United Kingdom. He recently released a new single titled Who Is She To Me, and it landed on the number 44 spot in the iTunes UK chart last December 1.

Although very happy with the initial success, Christian admits that this career move is experimental.

"Yes, it's experimental. It's my parang suntok sa buwan. It's my chance to try. So I did that by partnering with international producers such as Randy Kerber. He's from the States, and he's an Oscar-nominated producer. Christian de Walden is also an international producer. It [the song] was mixed in Italy pa, and then we shot the music video in the UK. There's a lot going for it. I believe in the song and the video as well, and we'll see what happens," he shared during a press conference last December 3.

He also believes that the UK audience will appreciate his music.

"I believe right now that the music scene, ang daming nag-o-originate from the UK lately. Parang it's setting the standard, lately ha, sa music scene. I feel na mas makaka-appreciate ang UK audience ng ballads, and that's my core strength."

The Kapuso singer-actor admits that making it big in the European market is no easy feat, but he is confident that Filipinos all over the world will help him reach that dream.

"Hopefully this music will cross borders, and this song will inspire more people in Asia, and hopefully in the United Kingdom. I know it's very hard to do that as an Asian artist sa either Europe or the US but I still have to try. I don't know what's going to happen, pero maybe with your help and the fans' help, we could spread the word. Kasi there are Filipinos all over the world, and if you make a good, creative, quality music here in the Philippines, they will also hear it and request it over there."
