South Korean actress Kang Myung-joo, who was part of the 2022 drama Extraordinary Attorney Woo, passed away. She was 54.

According to a report by Korean media outlet Maeil Business, the sad news was confirmed by Park Se-young, Myung-joo's daughter and also an actress, on her social media page on February 28.

"My mother left a long way yesterday afternoon. I would appreciate it if you could remember the stage that my mother loved and the moments when she shone together," Se-young was quoted as saying in the translation on Maeil Business.

The report said Myung-joo died while battling cancer.

Myung-joo's funeral is at Seoul St. Mary's Hospital.

Myung-joo was known for her role as Judge Park In-Young in the popular drama Extraordinary Attorney Woo.

She was also part of Wonderful World, Doona!, A Time Called You, and See You in My 19th Life, among others.
