David Licauco recalled how a tragedy changed his life.
In a recent episode of Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho, David opened up about the vehicular accident he was involved in back in 2013 while on he and his friends were on their way home from Tagaytay.
"Galing po kami ng Tagaytay, when we got to SLEX, we hit a gas truck," David said.
According to David, as his friend was driving their vehicle, it crashed into a truck along SLEX, resulting in the car being split from the impact.
"Kumalahati 'yung kotse. Nasa harapan po ako. I had a seatbelt injury. I couldn't breathe," he told Jessica Soho.
David could still remember the moment his best friend calling his name, helping him.
"I remember him getting my phone pa 'eh, for me to be able to call my mom."

David revealed his friend eventually got into a coma and passed away.
While David recovered, he felt guilty for the incident.
"I was bedridden po for like two weeks. Siyempre, may mga moments na sisisihin mo 'yung sarili mo."
Aside from dealing with the guilt over losing a friend, he also felt traumatized by the mishap and avoided passing by SLEX for a time.
David said he survived because he was wearing a seatbelt, which he's thankful for--a parking attendant had told him to buckle up.
"Kapag bata ka po, ayaw n'yo mag-seatbelt kasi parang hassle eh. And then, may parking boy. For some reason, nandun siya sa side ko. And then, sabi niya sa akin, 'Sir, seatbelt po ah. Ingat lang po kayo.' That stuck in me," David narrated.
"Nag-seatbelt po ako. And kung hindi po dahil sa parking boy, eh, wala po tayong interview ngayon," he added.
The misfortune taught David to value life, family, and friends more.
"I think it's just a matter of valuing your friends and family, your loved ones because you never know. Baka tomorrow may mawala po.
"I think it's always nice to let your friends and family know that you love them and you care for them," he said.
