Sanya Lopez visits abused women for 20th birthday; hopes they get inspired by Danaya

To celebrate her 20th birthday, Sanya Lopez threw a simple celebration for the women of The Haven – National Center for Women in Muntinlupa.

The Kapuso actress hopes that, in one way or another, the abused, beaten and trafficked women in the shelter will gain inspiration from the strength and independence embodied by her Encantadia character Danaya.

Basta alam mong tama, ipaglaban mo. As long as wala kang tinatapakan na ibang tao, wala kang sinasaktan, ipagpatuloy mo lang,” she told a group of over sixty women.

She also reminded them to keep dreaming for themselves and their families, something that she has always done and continue to do.

Kung bakit nangyayari ‘to, may dahilan,” she added.

Sanya told The Haven’s beneficiaries that no matter what challenges they are currently facing, it is crucial for them to keep hoping and working towards a better life.

According to her, it was the first time she celebrated her birthday in a charitable organization and intends to do it again in many succeeding years.
