Nanette Medved-Po reveals why Solenn Heussaff is perfect for her classroom-building initiative

Nanette Medved-Po shared why Solenn Heussaff is the perfect partner to work on a collaboration for Hope in A Shirt. In a recent interview, Nanette discussed how she handpicked Solenn amongst the roster of talented Filipino artists.
 
She said, “I started to look at the different artists out there who were very exciting and innovative and up and coming and everybody knows that Solenn become quite a celebrated artist. She's young but she's also very fashionable. So I thought, she's never done fashion despite the fact that she's so fashionable. I said, 'You know what that might be really fun.'”

 
The discussion was casually done over coffee and according to Nanette the agreement to pursue a project dedicated to build classrooms for the Filipino kids was done organically. 
 
Nanette disclosed, “I had coffee with her one morning and said 'You know I've been playing with this idea. We have a shirt that's [made out of] 100% recycled plastic bottles' and I gave her one and she loved it. She said 'Oh my God I love this shirt.'"
 
“She said I'll create a design and she said we just kind of put the whole project together during that coffee and next thing you know, we're herel,” Nanette concluded.
