Pinoy Pop Superstar Year 3

Pinoy Pop Superstar is a year-long talent search that encourages local aspirants to join the roster of ultimate singing sensations of the Philippines. It begins with a massive audition period. And then, for 40 weeks, 3 contestants will compete in the studio before a panel of judges. The winner of each week challenges the defending champion of the week before. A winner able to defend his/her title for four consecutive weeks automatically qualifies for the grand finals. At the end, a Pinoy Pop Superstar is crowned and a new singing sensation is launched into the country's music scene. The first year of the show gave us Jonalyn Viray. Then only 15 years old, Jonalyn's big voice won over the viewing public as well as the judges as she edged out Brenan Espartinez to win the first ever season of Pinoy Pop Superstar. Since then, she has released a successful album entitled 'On My Own' and continued to grow as a performer with regular slots on SOP and other GMA shows. Pinoy Pop Superstar 2 was even more exciting! From among the seven grand contenders, it was long-time crowd favorite Gerald Santos bagged the Pinoy Pop Superstar Year 2 Grand Champion title. Gerald is still finding his footing as the newest Kapuso star. But before he can even begin to catch his breath, the search for the next Pinoy Pop Superstar is already underway. Year 3 comes straight to your screens this Saturday right after Fantastikids. This year, the stakes are bigger. The road to SUPERSTARDOM is narrower. The contest becomes more intense.
